So lately I have been seeing leather jewelry everywhere. One Little Mama has these amazing tear drop earrings on her site. I was totally inspired. I found this amazing silver leather at Joann’s. ( It comes in copper and gold too!) And let it sit for a day or two. Then I started thinking, what if I made it layered and or chevron. So I went to work and came up with this fun, lightweight silver leather necklace.
1. First I purchased my leather. I bought a sheet of leather, silver rings and matching chain.
2. I made a template for my chevron/ arrow in photo shop. Here is the template I used. Then traced it onto the back of the leather.
3. I cut my leather out. You can do this with sharp scissors or an Xacto-o knife. Then in the corners I punched holes in the corners with my Making Memories hole punch. Or you can use a leather punch.
4. Use jump rings to connect your leather pieces. I liked the look of 4 rings between mine. Add a few extras at the top and add your chain.
Attach your chain and you are ready to go. You can repeat these steps for earrings just on a smaller scale and you will need earring posts to attach your leather to.
