Disney Descendants Mal Coronation Dress
This little girl has my whole heart. She loves ruffles, crafting, sewing, playing with bugs and digging inthe dirt. SO when she said she wanted to be Mal from Disney’s Decendants for Halloween I rolled my eyes. Up until now she has let me pick her costumes. Some of my favorites are Rainbow Brite, Astrid from How to train your Dragon and Little Bo peep. But this year was a little different.

Growing up my mom would make porcelain dolls for a little extra income. We would make them from start to finish. I would clean greenware, wire bodies and dress the dolls. When I was about 6 years old I would sneak onto my moms sewing machine and practice sewing lines on fabric. I would sit and turn the knobs of her machine. Once she realized I was adjusting the the tension she decided to teach me how to sew. I would make small pillows, pillowcases and drawstring bags. Playing around on the sewing machine became a fun hobby for me.

Super Hero Dress Ups and Costume
A few months ago I hosted a yard sale for a Youth Fundraiser. One of the donations was a simple super hero cape made by a neighbor who had passed away. Her family were cleaning out the house and decided to donate the old dress ups. I was totally intrigues by the simplicity of these capes and just had to recreate them in an updated version. So I began figure out the designs I wanted and how I would put them together. So today I will share how I made the basic cape and over the next couple of weeks I will share the individual images I made for each super hero. So First up is Spiderman!
