The Eiffel Tower has always been a favorite of mine. So when my daughter became obsessed with it I decided to indulge her a bit. I thought a pillow for her bed would be cute. I looked for one I loved but didn’t find one in my budget. I decide to just make one with supplies I had at my home. The pattern is simple to stitch and only requires some fabric, thread and a little sewing ability.
Eiffel Tower Hand stitched Pillow
I started with a favorite fabric I had leftover from a different project. Mine was a turquoise linen. It is best to use a home decor fabric. I cut my fabric a standard pillow size for my pillow form. If you are stuffing your pillow you can make it whatever size you want.
Then I printed the Eiffel Tower pattern and taped it to my window. Printable hand stitch pattern download
Place your fabric on the window and use a pencil to trace the Eiffel Tower onto the fabric.
Once I had that done I put my fabric into an embroidery hoop so it was easier to stitch.
I used a needle and heavy embroidery thread to stitch my image.
After stitching my image I used lightweight iron on interfacing to iron over my thread to help keep them in place.
Then put your pillow together. I added a zipper and pom fringe to mine.
Once my pillow cover was complete I made twisted satin roses to stitch onto the base of the Eiffel Tower.
This little addition is wonderful in her room. Whether its on her bed or in her window seat it adds just a little shabby chic Paris love to the room. The great thing about this project is you can make it whatever you want.
