Dressing up a baby for Halloween is a rite of passage for a new mom. This year my guy was a Butterball turkey. Mostly because he is a chubby round faced baby that you just can’t resist pinching. This costume was so easy to make. Brown clothing and my silhouette made this one happen. And he looked adorable!
Basic Butterball turkey Costume Instructions
I started with a brown shirt and pants. I cut a yellow oval from felt. I used my Silhouette to cut the word “Butterball” from blue glitter iron-on vinyl. I ironed the words onto the felt. I then hand stitched the yellow felt onto the shirt. Pretty basic.
For the hat I made a basic winter hat in brown. I used a small piece of cream felt to make a turkey timer. I stitched it onto the hat.
I used cream fleece to make the leg cuffs. I cut a 6×12 inch piece of felt. Fold it in half making it 3×12. Stitch the top and make a casing. Thread a 1/4 inch piece of elastic through the casing. Stitch ends together and stitch felt to the elastic.
Your Turkey is done.
What handmade costume have you made for your baby?

Cuterst Butterball ever. Any ideas for couple costumes 50 year old adults . My hubby and I are going to a Hloween party this weekend and itsthe first one since we have been married 25 years ago next week.
I am the opposite of creative. I can’t just see something. Since I don’t sew. Maybe you have a friend or someone that has examples of easy couples. costumes? If so could you please share a link? Or lead me to the place I could see some ideas? The easier but fun the better.
Thanks so much. So glad I randomly found you.
