I am so excited to be sharing Posy Garden fabric today. I love the colors, prints and diversity of the fabrics. I knew as soon as I saw the fabric I wanted to make my daughter something for school. She loves leggings and a long tunic top was just perfect for this fabric.
30 minute Kimono Jacket DIY
Over the past two years Kimono jackets have gotten really popular. My first one I bought carried a high price tag. After seeing how simple it was I decided to make a few of my own. They are so fun to wear with a skirt, dress up jeans or capris or use with a bathing suit on the beach! This simple 30 minute tutorial will have you ready for the summer in no time!
Embellished Cross-body Bag Tutorial
Last summer I taught sewing classes to some girls in my neighborhood. One of the projects was a simple cross body bag they could use to go to the mall or carry on vacation. The girls sewed them up in about 2 hours. A perfect project for a new seamstress. To make it a little more personal I love to add embellishments to make it my own. Buttons, fringe, ribbon whatever you want. I made this tutorial for the Ribbon Retreat, my favorite place to buy all of my embellishments!
Eiffel Tower Pillow
The Eiffel Tower has always been a favorite of mine. So when my daughter became obsessed with it I decided to indulge her a bit. I thought a pillow for her bed would be cute. I looked for one I loved but didn’t find one in my budget. I decide to just make one with supplies I had at my home. The pattern is simple to stitch and only requires some fabric, thread and a little sewing ability.
Ribbon Holiday Hoop Decor
For each holiday I enjoy making something a little different. This year the Ribbon Retreat asked me to join in and make something from a secret box of goodies. I decided to use ribbon in a not so traditional way. The great thing about this project is you can make it for any holiday using whatever silhouette figure you wish. So here you have a Ribbon Holiday Hoop Decor.
DIY Workout Beanie
Making a fashion statement in my workout journey, cute clothes, hats, beanies, head phones, had never been a thing for me. I see my friends post their cute outfits ans accessories before the y go to the gym. I am not one of those gym girls who gets ready for the day before she heads to the gym at 5:30 in the morning. I like to roll out of bed, put my hair in a ponytail, slip on the first gym clothes I see and go with it. I go to the gym for various reasons most importantly to stay healthy for myself and my family and for no other reason. In the winter its just to cold to run outside or even drive to the gym with out a hat. So I decided to set out and find a fun hat that was ponytail friendly. Something beside a ball cap. I found something similar on an international website but didn’t like the price. So I found some double knit scrap and made one of my own. This tutorial is super easy to follow and you will have a new beanie in 45 minutes or less!
Check out my easy to follow DIY workout Beanie video tutorial below! Enjoy!
Easy 4 step Workout Headband
There was a time when I just didn’t need the gym. My body just bounced back after babies and all was well. Now as I am aging I don’t get to enjoy that perk in life. I HAVE get to go to the gym, watch what I eat and count my steps. I have to care. But if I have to do all these things to stay healthy, I am going to do it in style. I saw a similar headband on the internet and decided I could make one or two for myself. I used them when I went to Movara Fitness. They are super easy and sew up in about 15 minutes.
Hand stitched Boot Socks
Fall is here and that means boot season!! I am obsessed with boots. I love them with skirts, leggings and jeans. So this year I decided to make a few pairs of decorative boot socks. You can use them to dress things up or with a Sunday dress. And these little beauties are super simple to make and a lot less expensive than the store bought ones. So here is what you need:

Growing up my mom would make porcelain dolls for a little extra income. We would make them from start to finish. I would clean greenware, wire bodies and dress the dolls. When I was about 6 years old I would sneak onto my moms sewing machine and practice sewing lines on fabric. I would sit and turn the knobs of her machine. Once she realized I was adjusting the the tension she decided to teach me how to sew. I would make small pillows, pillowcases and drawstring bags. Playing around on the sewing machine became a fun hobby for me.
Frozen Princess capes
I am so excited to be sharing with you a month of Disney with Rachel over at R&R Workshop. Today I am sharing a fun cape you can make for your little miss. I think every little girl loves the movie Frozen. So I decided to make a Anna and Elsa cape that little miss can use for play time, Dressup a day in Disneyland or just for fun.
