September 11, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

wand curls hair tutorial video freetimefrolics.com
A few months ago I attended a blog conference, SNAP! while at the conference I did my hair in wavy curls.  I was approached by several other blogger ans asked how I got my hair so curly and bouncy.  A lot of them thought it was natural.  But it is not!  My hair is as straight as it comes.  As a child my hair would not hold any curl.  no Curling Iron, hot rollers, perms nothing! I finally found  Caruso curlers in High school that would curl my hair and it would stay for most of the day.  But never 2 days.  So when I found my Evolution curling wand I was in heaven.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TruMoo for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Do you remember way back when you were a kid and Bill Cosby was telling us on TV to buy Pudding Pops?  I just loved those things.  They were the best creamy treat in the frozen food section! But alas one day they just disappeared, never return.
I miss them.

Reusable Lunch bags.

August 29, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

A few weeks ago I was asked to join in the Back to school fun over at the Ribbon Retreat. All of the bloggers were given a letter of the alphabet and asked to make something that went with that letter and back to school.  I am so excited to be sharing the letter “L” with you in the Back to School Series. I had a few ideas for the letter “L”.  I finally decided on making a reusable Lunch bag.  I have seen them on the web but this little bag is special.  Why you ask?  Because most of these tutorials use vinyl fabric from the store. I chose my own fabric to make this and used an awesome product called Thermo Web Iron on Vinyl.  You can use whatever fabric you want and make it vinyl!  It is so cool! I fell in love with this adorable alphabet  fabric at the Ribbon Retreat and went to work.

Supply list
2 coordinating fat quarters
Thermo Web Iron on vinyl
Sewable hook and loop
1. Cut fabric and vinyl. Press out all creases and wrinkles
2. Pull paper backing from vinyl. Lay on right side of fabric. Cover with a thin towel or piece of fabric. Follow
instructions for vinyl application. Repeat for coordinating fabric
3.Place both fabrics RST. Sew around rectangle leaving a 3 inch hole for turning.
4.Turn right sides out.
Push corners out. At this point I like to take my light weight cloth and lay
it on my vinyl and press everything down.

5. Cut a long piece of
hook and loop tape. Fold your bag the way you would like it and place your Hook and loop tape.  Place one piece on the
outside of the fabric on the short end.
Stitch into place. On the opposing short end place the other piece of hook and
loop on the inside fabric. Stitch into place. The hoop and loop on the inside fabric is going to become
the top of your bag.

Fold your pouch and stitch down the two sides, making a pouch for your sandwich.

6.  All finished.  Your bag can be washed and dried and used again.

Isn’t this Thermo Web so cool.  I think you could use this for all kinds of projects; Baby Bibs, Art Smock, chair covers or placemats. The possibilities are endless.

I love a great Teacher! I have a few I remember fondly.  They helped me grow, learn who I am and became great inspirations in my life.  So now as I watch my own kids head out to school I want to give a little back. With a little help from Office Depot and Photoshop I came up with this fun giving basket for a special teacher.  Packed with school supplies just for him or her!

So I found this adorable basket at a local craft store and went to work filling it up.

I started by shopping at my local Office Depot. This week they have an awesome sale going on.

You could also use this printable on my favorite childhood school supply. Mr. Sketch.  They smell delicious and have amazing color!

And my last printable. Every teacher loves a new package of Sharpie’s.  I love opening a fresh package in bright colors.  I think I get more excited about that than my kids do. I think I need a Sharpie project for my fresh new markers!
