Bling out your Locker with LLZ by Locker Lookz

July 8, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

Locker lookz by LLZ www.freetimefrolics.com video
“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Locker Lookz. I was sent product for my post, but all my opinions are my own.
I can’t believe summer is a third of the way done! I feel like the kids haven’t been out long enough to start thinking about back to school stuff.  This year I have one of my kiddos starting Junior High.  I can’t believe I have a junior High student.  With Junior High comes  a whole new set of school shopping!  So when I saw these  LLZ by LockerLookz I knew I jut had to buy them!  I love the choices they have to and I can mix and match. Any teen girl would love to show her personal style with LLZ!

I started by going to the LockerLookz website and design a virtual locker! You can change every feature about your locker.  Mix and match the colors or stay with one color palette. With so many choices you can express your own style. Once your Locker is all designed online you can head out to your local Staples, Meijer, Michaels or A.C.Moore Stores to pick yours up!

I am kind of a Turquoise kind of gal. So anything in that color is my favorite! I love on the website you can design it before you head out shopping!  This stuff is what school dreams are made of! I am completely in love with the chandeliers! They are motion sensored.  No need to worry about the batteries going dead over the weekend!  Not to mention they are the the top in high fashion and quality locker products.  I wish we had this stuff when I was in school. Stylish and  so easy to use.
Check out the video to see how our locker came together!

(function() { var po = document.createElement(‘script’); po.type = ‘text/javascript’; po.async = true; po.src = ‘https://apis.google.com/js/platform.js’; var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s); })();

I started decorating the Lockers with coordinating wall papers and rugs.  Add your locker shelf. Then add your pencil holder, mirror, decorative flowers or dry erase board. Deck yours out just the way you want it!
Then I mixed it up a bit. I mixed and matched the colors and changes the wall paper around to made my own unique style.  After getting them all done, my Junior High Helper decided she like the mix up.  She loved that she could make this her very own style!

So I hope you love these as much as I do.  I truly was blown away at how great a product this is.  Easy to use, fashionable and down right adorable. Any girl with LLZ is going to be the talk of the school!

Frozen Inspired Elsa & Anna Aprons

June 20, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

ann and elsa frozen aprons www.freetimefrolics.com
Frozen Inspired Aprons for Anna and Elsa. Perfect for dress up or baking! www.freetimefrolics.com

Around our house we are total Frozen fans.  We have had a frozen party, watch the movie dozens of times and we must have an Elsa braid everyday. So when Rachel asked me to participate in a month of Disney I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  So I whipped up these darling Anna and Elsa Aprons for the little miss!

month of disney with r&R workshop

Frozen inspired Anna Apron www.freetimefrolics.com

These aprons are super easy and take around an hour to make.  I found my fabric and Joann’s Craft. Here are the supplies you need.

Anna & Elsa Aprons

Supplies

Anna:    fat quarter blue fabric

fat quarter of black fabric

4 inches yellow fabric

scraps for applique

Elsa:   1/2 yard snowflake fabric or light blue

scrap or white for snowflake

Frozen apron supplies www.freetimefrolics.com
I decided to break down how much you would need per element of the apron.  So as you are buying fabric keep that in mind.  All pieces are single layer.

Fold the waist band and neckband in half. Stitch along one short end and length of bands.  Turn right sides out and press. Clip 4 inches off the bottom of the neck band and fold it over 2 d rings.
Place the neck strap and d ring piece into the top of the body piece, on the inside and finish sewing the top of the body. And turn.n It will look like this when you are done.

If you are going to put the tulip or snowflake on your bodice add it now. I just used scrap fabric I had to add my embellishments.
Anna Applique for a Frozen inspired apron www.freetimefrolics.com
Use a long stitch to your skirt. Pull the top thread to gather your skirt. Take your bodice and find center on both pieces.  Sew them together with wrong sides together.  You should be able to see the raw edges of both pieces in the front of your apron.
Take your waist band and find center on apron and band.  Pin into place and start at one end and top stitch the waistband to the apron.  Sew all around the 4 sides of the waist band covering the seams of the apron.
For the bottom of my Anna apron I used Elmers Painter’s Pens to add flowers to the bottom of the apron.  These pens are so cool and easy to use. They come in tons of colors and 3 types of pens. Fine. medium and chiseled. Just be sure you don’t let your kids have them or paint your clothes. Check out your local Walmart in the craft section to get yours or buy them on Amazon!

For the Elsa Apron I purchased 1/2 yard or snowflake fabric and a scrap of white fabric.
I found these adorable snowflake buttons that I got for a dollar at Joann’s.
My Little Miss just loves her aprons and has to wear one whenever she helps me bake.

LDS Youth June Lesson: Priesthood Keys

June 15, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

It has been a while since I posted an LDS Youth Curriculum printable so to go with my lesson today I made this one.  I truly believe that this church is the truest on the earth.  We have leaders that will not lead us astray. Ans though the members of the church are not always perfect, HIS gospel is perfect.  Being a true follower or Christ means having faith in his plan and putting our trust in those he has called.

As members of the Church, we have the opportunity to sustain those the Lord has called to serve. We raise our hand to indicate that we sustain the General Authorities and officers of the Church and each of the leaders in our wards and stakes—including Young Women class presidencies. Sustaining leaders involves more than just a raised hand—it means that we stand behind them, pray for them, accept assignments and callings from them, obey their counsel, and refrain from criticizing them. (LDS.org)
I truly feel that when we support and sustain our church leaders we feed and build our own testimonies and allow ourselves to be taught by the spirit. So I made this simple printable and added a little treat for each of the girls.

Inspirational Graduation Gifts

June 9, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

Since last August I have been the Young Women’s President for my ward.  For those not of the LDS Faith, I lead the teenage girls 12-18 in my ward.  I strive to bring them closer to Christ through weekly activities, temple trips, Sunday Lessons and friendship.  So this year for graduation gifts I decided to go a little more personal.
Earlier in the year I asked our girls to share a quote or thought. We had them write them down and we shared them with a less active girl in our ward. I remembered a few of the inspirational quotes and turned them into necklaces. With the help from Charming Sarabella’s Etsy shop.

Take look at here shop.  She had a few hundred to choose from. This Love Conquers All necklace was what first drew mew to her shop.
I ordered the necklace with a few changes.

For the next necklace I had the scripture custom ordered.  I took a few ideas from her shop and picked my own inscription.

The last on is my favorite.  One of my girls share this quote she found on Pinterest.  I was truly inspired and love the quote.  Sara did an amazing job making this one. I am totally in love!

Along with the necklace I made this simple printable for my young woman to have to frame.  If for nothing else to remind me that no matter what I am going through I need to remember that I am being launched into Greatness!

Summer Citrus Slush

June 2, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

citru slush www.freetimefrolics.com
A a youth I remember every big summer activity we had this Slush drink that I just loved. We called it SLOP. It stood for Seven-up, lemonade, orange juice and Pineapple.  Put them all together and what do you get?  SLOP! You mix up the each ingredients and enjoy. So I decide to make it a yummy, cool slush that my kids can enjoy on a hot summer day.  I love mixing this up and freezing it in old Ice cream containers and keeping it for a few weeks.  This recipe isn’t an exact match but it is delicious and perfect for those hot summer days!
