Dresser Redo with Annie Sloan Paint

August 19, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

Easy dresser makeover anniw sloan freetimefrolics.com
I have been desperately looking for a new dresser.  I found an old dresser at a local thrift store.  It was in decent condition so I took it for under $90.  Not to bad for an old solid dresser.  The dresser had good structure but the vintage 70’s stain was much to be desired.  So I pulled out the old sander and went to town.

It’s August and I haven’t posted any Young Women Come Follow Me printable in a while so I am trying to get caught up.  I will add them as I plan my lessons.  First up was my lesson on how Men and Women compliment each other.  I started my lesson with images that complimented each other.  ie. Tom & Jerry, PB&J, stuff like that.  Then I worked out my lesson with the talks and videos given.  For my handout, I made this fun printable with a pack of mentos.

goal setting for kids free printable www.freetimefrolics.com
The other day I shared a little about goal setting.  I decided it was never too early to start setting goals.  So I made a printable for the kids.  I printed them off and laminated them.  The kids can write their goals on them with a marker or dry erase pencil and use them to remind them about what they want to achieve.
So click on the links and pick a couple out for your kids!

Goal setting printable, www.freetimefrolics.com
Over the past few months, I have really been thinking about goal setting and how it can influence my life.  I have shared many conversations with others about the topic.   I even shared my thoughts about the subject with my Young Women, and how important it can be when making long-term plans and goals.  I have never really been a goal writer.

Junior High Class Schedule Printable

July 18, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

Several weeks ago my friend Emily at www.thebensonsstreet.com asked me to join in on her back-to-school series. Joining in the fun are 44 other bloggers too.  This series is jam-packed with great ideas to get your kids started for school this coming year!
I have a son going into junior high this year so I thought it was a great opportunity to do something for him.  So after days of thought. Yes, days… We are talking about the dreaded Junior high where nothing is right and from day to day, his mood and attitude are a mystery.  I finally came up with something that she wouldn’t be embarrassed by!

Every kid needs to learn to plan.  So I made my son a printable class schedule to help him keep organized.  He can keep it on the front of a three-ring binder to write his classes on and write down any homework.  You could also laminate it and use a dry erase marker for more permanent use.
Don’t worry I made a girl one to!

Or you can print them off and use them to slide into a 3 ring binder.  Print a new one off each week.

I made 2 different ones for boys and 2 for girls.

Drop Waist Lace Dress

July 14, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

Easy drop waist lace dress www.freetimefrolics.com
A while back I saw a drop waist dress that I loved.  I cost way to much money and I wanted it a different color. I have always loved the 20’s drop waist style. So I made this fun drop waist lace and tricot skirt.
For this dress I used a basic shirt pattern and adjusted it for a drop waist. I measured the bottom of the dress and tripled the width to add the skirt.
I used knit fabric got the main body. One the color for the top and the other in cream for the under skirt. Lace with a decorative edge and the yardage need for you skirt in sheer tricot.
The inside shirt and skirt are attached. The lace part of the shirt hangs over the top of the dress.

Key hole button closure: Because of the Knit fabric and the lace over the top I needed to add an way to get the dress on and off.

I added a bow to match my knit fabric.

When I was a kid I loved sour candy.  My friends and I would have a competition to see who could eat the most sour candy at once. Did you ever do that?  We would eat until our taste buds were dead. So when I had the opportunity to head out to my local Walmart to test out the new Zours® Candy by Mike & Ike, I said Heck yeah!! They come in the perfect sized box for movie snacks, purse treat or a park snack! The sweet and sour taste takes me right back to being a kid.
