Rainbow Easter Bunny Bait {Free Printable}

Do you read the about pages for bloggers?  Well if you read mine you would see that one of my favorite treats are Skittles and Starbursts!  I love them. Because of my food allergies I have a hard time eating fruit.  So to get that #VIPFruitFlavors I crave, I eat Skittles and Starbursts. I totally eat mine by color.  Quirky, I know. How do you eat yours?  I start with my least favorite flavor (Green apple, Lime was much tastier) and end with the Strawberry, my favorite.  So with Easter approaching I thought it would be fun to create an adorable printable for the Easter Bunny and tag it with my favorite treat! Rainbow Easter Bunny Bait.

homemade chicken noodle soup recipe www.freetimefrolics.com
One of my Favorite meal my Grandma made me as a kid was Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. She would bring it down when I was sick, On a cold snowy day or just because she knew I was coming. When I got older she shared the recipe with me but it just didn’t taste right. Until years later she shared her secret with  me.  She secretly added Turnip and Cabbage to her soup.  It makes it  taste delicious.  She was so sneaky. My dad didn’t even know it.  I feel privileged she shared her secret with me. So today I am sharing my recipe with you!

Homemade Garlic Egg Noodles {Recipe}

Homemade garlic egg noodles #recipe via www.freetimefrolics.com
Growing up my Grandmother would spend hours preparing chicken noodle soup.  She would make the noodles from scratch. Then make homemade chicken noodle soup with her secret recipe. Her soup was one of my favorite meals.  The noodles were delicious. The kind you have to chew.  They are my favorite! So I thought I would share with your her easy recipe with a little flavor.
 Homemade Garlic Egg Noodles
4 eggs
1 Cup Flour
1 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
Whip eggs in bowl.  Add garlic salt then flour 1/4 cup at a time.  Mix  until you have a soft ball.  Sprinkle a little flour on counter top.  Roll egg noodles very thin.  Mine are about 1/8 inch thick.  To cut noodles I use my herb mincer.  It makes the perfect noodles!  Or you can cut them by hand.
Next line a cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper.  Lay noodles on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle a little flour on the noodles.  Let them sit for a few hours to dry out.  I made mine in the morning and used them for dinner.
You can use your noodles for all kinds of recipes!  Tell me what awesome recipes you can use these egg noodles in!

Anna and Elsa Inspired Frozen necklaces via www.freetimefrolics.com #frozen #necklaces

Little Miss recently had a birthday.  She has been waiting for the movie to come out to have a Frozen party. So to add to the fun we have been going full frozen at our house. So with the idea from Steph over at Crafting in the Rain.  I made these fun and easy Bead Necklaces.  Inspired by Anna and Elsa in the movie. They are super easy to make and look adorable on your little miss!~
So lets get started!

To paint mine I use pipe cleaners  and string a few on there.  Then I take them outside and spray paint them.  I hang them to dry then do another spray.
Frozen inspired necklace, party favor, dress up necklace
I decided to use gold, Pink and Blue paint for Anna and Silver, turquoise and white for Elsa. Add a yard of Ribbon and you are ready to go.

Little Miss love to wear hers.  She can’t wait to give them to her friends! For the party we put them together in kits and placed them in an organza bag from Walmart.  The girls loved them!

Storing your Winter Gear for an Emergency

March 19, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

How to Organize and store your winter gear for an emergency via Freetimefrolics.com #preparedness
Spring is just around the corner and that means 2 of my favorite things happen.
 1. Winter Gear gets put away and my mud room stays clean and 2.  Sock matching goes out the window because we wear sandals! Yeah for Spring!!
Instead of just putting away our winter gear I get it ready for an emergency.  Living here in Idaho, even in the summer we can have some cold nights.  So if we were to ever have an emergency we would most likely need our winter gear to keep warm. So I have my own way of keeping my winter gear together during the summer months just in case.
At the end of every spring I wash and dry everything.  I set them out for an extra day or two to make sure they are very dry.  You don’t want mold growing in your gear!.
Next make sure you have everything you need.
Here is my list:
Coat
Snow pants or bibs
 Gloves
 Scarf
 Beanie or hat
 Snow boots
 Heavy socks
(If you keep socks in your 72 hour kit you can omit them from this kit!)
 Ear muffs opt.
If you buy a year ahead with coats and boots pack those.  If you don’t, pack what you have. When an emergency comes around anything is better than nothing. Folding and packing your gear can be tough. especially if you have lots of kids.I try to make mine as compact as possible.  Here is what I do.
www.freetimefrolics.com steps to organize your winter gear
Lay your coat out with the Zipper open.
1. Place hat, ear warmer and socks in pockets of the coat.
2. Tuck your scarf through both arms with an end out each hole.
3. Place gloves in arms of coat. One on each side.
4. Fold your pants into thirds and lay inside your coat. Zip your coat up.
5. Fold arms in to center of coat.
6. Fold coat in half from bottom to top.
Using a Rubbermaid bin Place all boots on the bottom. If you have lots of kids you may need two buckets.
One for boot and one for gear.
Lay coats flat on top of boots
Once all coats are inside. add your lid and store for the summer.
In an emergency you can grab the bucket and throw it in your car.
Another great thing about this method is when school starts again and the first snow sneaks up on us. You can head out to the garage and your gear is clean and ready to wear!

Well at Walgreens for my Allergy Issues

March 17, 2014 By: Freetimefrolics

Are you an allergy sufferer? For my family allergies are right around the corner.  Besides being allergic to many fruits and veggies I suffer from terrible spring allergies.  They only last 3 months but they are are really tough to deal with.  I find myself having to start my allergy regimen a few weeks before the season starts.
Because my kids are all different ages we have a lot of allergy needs in the house. To fill all those needs I headed to my one stop shop, Walgreens. They carry the #WellAtWalgreens brand.  Same Allergy medications as the name brands at a better price!  Just what I need.

On a quick trip I picked up everything I needed. Some for me and some for the kids.  As you can see we keep the allergy medication companies in business. All this for a little pollen ans some spring flowers. You bet!
I found the Well at Walgreens brand down the allergy/ cold and flu medication aisle. And on a few end caps.  They were even doing a sale on their Well at Walgreen brand buy on get one 50% off!  It’s a great deal to stock up for your family.
Walgreens also  has made a Way to better health commitment.  With these and other Well at Walgreens products, Walgreens  commits 1 cent per product purchased up to 3 million dollars to support better health and preventative services to local communities!  I love that when I buy the Walgreen brand products I not only get a great price but I am helping to give back to my community!  It’s a Win, win!
And Walgreens has an awesome Rewards Program. So don’t forget to sign up for your Balance Rewards! It’s free.
This year I put together an On the Go Allergy kit. Complete with all the things I need to help my allergies. Besides my regular allergy medications I take once a day I have a few I keep with me all the time.
Sinus relief and Allergy Eye are my go to meds for all year long. These two medications come with me everywhere.   For me my some of my allergies are all year long.  I have terrible allergies to many fruits and vegetables.  If I touch them and touch my face or skin. My eyes and throat swell up. The throat swelling is not so much a problem unless I eat them, but the eyes are a big problem.  My eyes itch, tear up and turn bright red. Then I bruise into my cheeks.  I kind of look like a raccoon.  I usually can’t see out of them either.  At the first signs of an allergic reaction these Allergy relief eye drops take care of my symptoms. I am so grateful I have found these.
When I am at the park or traveling (that darn Russian Olive) I hold onto my Sinus relief for when my regular medications are not enough.
Next I add some tissues, hand sanitizer, moisturizer for those dry red noses and cough drops. Each of these items is essential for me as I go out and about.  Just grab or make a quick bag and you are ready to take on allergy season!
Thank you Walgreens for making allergy season a little more tolerable and easier on my pocketbook!
Do you have terrible allergies too?  What do you keep close by for emergencies??

Easy sew easter totes www.freetimefrolics.com #spring
This year for Easter I thought it would be fun to make the kids an Easter Tote.  It’s big enough for Easter Egg hunts, a fun toy or outfit and nothing falls out.  Then I found these adorable grocery tote fabrics at Joann’s. The fabric was so cheap only $2.99 a yard. Adorable colors, perfect for Easter.  I decided I would personalize each of them with a cute image.  I love how these Easter totes turned out.  My kids love them too!
